I made the mistake of using paper that bleeds the ink. So even though I was using Faber-Castell PITT pens (and later some really cool Pilot drawing pens), the inks never looked as sharp as they could have. As soon as the pens touched the paper, the ink would start to bleed. Using the brush pen for the speech balloons was also a boo-boo.
